Red flags to look out for
- TalkTalk never emails customers with unsolicited refund offers containing a clickable link.
- The link goes to an unofficial domain — not talktalk.co.uk.
- The message creates urgency with a legal-sounding '28 day' deadline.
- You may not even be a TalkTalk customer — this is sent in bulk to anyone.
What to do if you receive this
- Do not click any links in the email.
- Log in to your TalkTalk account directly at talktalk.co.uk to check your real balance.
- Forward the email to report@phishing.gov.uk.
- Report it to Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk.
