Fake Currys email claims recipients selected for free air conditioner and dehumidifier via survey

What is this scam?

Phishing emails impersonating Currys tell recipients they have been personally selected to receive a free air conditioner and dehumidifier, directing them to complete a short 'survey about home comfort needs' to claim the reward. Which? flagged this as an active scam in July 2026, timed to exploit peak summer temperatures and demand for cooling products. Clicking the survey link leads to a fraudulent website designed to harvest personal and financial details — no such promotion exists and Currys has no connection to these emails.
